Obituary of Anthony "Tony" Joseph Ferrara

Anthony "Tony" Joseph Ferrara, 87, of Madison, passed away December 16, 2018 at The Villa at Florham Park in Florham Park, NJ. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Tony moved to Basking Ridge, NJ where he lived for 18 years before residing in Madison, NJ.

Tony graduated Lafayette High School and went on to graduate from St. John's University in 1952 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration.

Tony worked as an Associate Vice President for Internal Audit at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey for 22 years before his retirement in 1998. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954 as a Petty Officer 3rd Class, then was in the Reserves for five years following.

He was a parishioner of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Basking Ridge, NJ. Tony was a member of Knights of Columbus, Parish Council, Institute of Internal Auditors, and Trenta Amici (an Italian American Association).

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Annette (Lipari) Ferrara, his devoted children, Diane Sullivan and husband, John, Lori McKenzie and husband, Dave, Sue Galvin and husband, Paul, and Michael Ferrara and wife, Maria. He is also survived by grandchildren, Christina Sullivan, Maria Sullivan, Sarah McKenzie, Judette McKenzie, Allison Spook, Patrick Spook, Tara Galvin and Tony Ferrara, and many nieces and nephews. Tony is predeceased by his brother, Charles Ferrara.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 4-8 pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison. A Funeral Mass for Tony will be held on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Basking Ridge.
