Obituary of Maryanne Disimilo

In Memory of Maryanne J. Disimilo 1931-2024

Maryanne J. Disimilo (Sandelli) of Morristown NJ passed away on November 5, 2024 at the age of 93 at Morristown Medical Center. She was born on October 3, 1931 and was a lifelong resident of Morristown.

After graduating from Bayley Ellard High School, Madison, NJ in 1949, she worked at All Souls Hospital in Morristown as a medical transcriptionist and did so for many years while raising her family. Following that she handled the administrative side of the family business, The Washington Barber Shop located in the center of Morristown.  She was a true and loyal NY Yankee fan. When she wasn’t watching baseball, basketball or figure skating, she was doing crossword puzzles and reading Danielle Steele books.  She enjoyed watching her grandson play sports when he was younger.  Around the time her great grandson started playing sports, her mobility started to decline which prevented her from attending the games so her son would record them so she could watch them at home.

Maryanne is survived by her daughter Lynn Lopez (Long Valley), son Michael Disimilo, Jr. (Morristown), grandson Matthew Lopez (Long Valley), great grandson Myles Lopez (Long Valley) and his dog Maple.  She is also survived by a sister Joan Clemente and a brother John Sandelli.

She is predeceased by her parents Anne Sandelli (Wildey) and Vincent Sandelli, Sr., her husband Michael Disimilo, Sr., her brothers Vincent “Skip” Sandelli, Jr, (and his wife Carol), and Robert “Butch” Sandelli Sr., and her sister Delores “Dee” Sandelli. 

Arrangements were handled by Dangler Funeral Home.  It was her wish not to have a viewing or service.
