Obituary of Patricia A. Caccavale

Patricia A. “Pat” Caccavale, 90 passed away peacefully on October 25,2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 26,1934 in Belleville, NJ. She lived in Madison, NJ, for the past 87 years.

Pat graduated from Madison High School in1952. She began her career at Chubb Insurance Company followed by her position as a bookkeeper at PNC Bank. She worked as a receptionist for St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison, NJ, until her retirement in 2021.

Pat was a member of St. Vincent Martyr Church, Madison, NJ, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered during the annual Thanksgiving Basket Outreach for several years.

She is survived by her children, Patty Cotter and her husband, Frank, Suzanne Caccavale, and Salvatore Caccavale and his wife, Cristiane, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Mark Caccavale, Michael Caccavale, Andrew Bello, Lucas Caccavale, and Chase Caccavale. Pat was an only child, but she considered her sisters-in-law, Honey & Sis as her “real sisters”.

Pat was predeceased by her devoted husband, William Caccavale, on October 27, 2005. She was predeceased by her parents, Gordon and Claire (O’Hara) Chaffee.

Pat was a dedicated, life-long Giants fan, through their good and bad years. She never wavered. She also loved crossword puzzles and worked on several puzzles every day.

Family and friends may gather on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 4-7pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main St., Madison, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 12:30pm, at St. Vincent Martyr Church, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery, Madison.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent’s Thanksgiving Basket Outreach Fund, 26 Green Village Road, Madison, NJ  07940.

The family would like to thank Life Hospice for taking special care of Pat, but most of all, nurse Janice.
