Obituary of Virginia Marie Gaudioso

Please share a memory of Virginia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Virginia Marie Gaudioso (née Milone), 93 years old, a longtime Morris Plains resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 25th, 2024.

Virginia was born in Netcong on May 27, 1931, to the late Paul and Orsola Milone. She grew up in a large, close-knit family of eight children.

Virginia met her beloved husband, the late Dominic Gaudioso at the Wigwam, a nightclub in Budd Lake. The couple married in 1954, moved to Morristown, and soon after settled in Morris Plains on Maple Avenue to raise a family. They moved across town to Jacqui Avenue in 1975.

Virginia worked for many years as an After School Assistant for the Morris School District, but her main focus was her family. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had strong Italian roots and believed in family values and faith, which she instilled in her children. She and Dominic were longtime parishioners of St. Virgil’s in Morris Plains.

Virginia valued a simple life. She doted on her family and loved cooking traditional Italian meals for them. She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and sitting in the sun.

Virginia’s family will deeply miss her fun loving personality. She had a great sense of humor. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is at peace.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dominic Gaudioso in 1988; her brothers Joseph, Anthony, and Paul Milone; and her sisters Margaret DiBernardo, Andrella Carle, Theresa Calvert, and Mary Chipoletti, and great-grandchild Gunner Bickhardt.

She is survived by her beloved children, Janice, Dominic, Nicholas, Michael and beloved son-in-law Rick Hoffman; daughter-in-laws Roberta, Clara and Colleen; cherished grandchildren, Alana Hoffman and spouse Adam Copeland, Kylie Hoffman and spouse Harrison Rodrigues, Robert Bickhardt and spouse Casey, Justin Bickhardt and spouse Lillian, Olivia Gaudioso, Dominic Jr. Gaudioso, Chase Gaudioso, Michael Gaudioso and spouse Kelly, Matthew Gaudioso and spouse Becca Weinstein, Mitchell Gaudioso, and Max Gaudioso; great grandchildren, Alice Copeland, Luke Bickhardt, Robbie Bickhardt, Bryce Bickhardt and Oliver Bickhardt, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
