Obituary of Robert Vincent Dempsey, Jr.

Robert Vincent Dempsey, 77, passed away at home in Morris Plains, NJ. He was born in Newark, NJ, and lived in Succasunna prior to moving to Morris Plains 12 years ago.

Robert graduated from Morristown High School in 1964. He worked as an electrician for 45 years until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of Local 102 and the VFW in Morris Plains. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. When he wasn’t working, he loved to paint landscapes and was also an avid golfer.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joan Marie Dempsey, his loving daughter, Carrie Ann Witte and her husband, Edward, of Westlake, FL., his cherished grandchildren, Hannah and John Witte, his brother, James Dempsey and his wife, Kathy, as well as nephews, Eric Dempsey and Scott Dempsey and his wife, Melissa.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 5-8pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11am at Dangler Funeral Home. Interment will be private for the family.
