Obituary of Mary Ann Neggers

Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Mary Ann Neggers (Sylvester), cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on January 26th, 2024, at her home in Morristown, NJ, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in Morristown, Mary Ann graduated from Bayley-Ellard High School in 1957, where she distinguished herself as an honor student, twirler, tap dancer, and self-proclaimed jitterbug queen. Throughout her life, she dedicated herself to serving her community and her church, Saint Margaret's, as a devoted Eucharist minister and speaker.

Mary Ann had a zest for life and made each day count. She loved spending sunny days at the town pool with her "pool friends", trying her luck with scratch-offs, and attending concerts. These joyful moments will forever be cherished by those who shared them with her.

Mary Ann's unwavering dedication to her family was the cornerstone of her life. She will be remembered for her infectious laughter, her ability to uplift others, and her genuine warmth that made everyone feel cherished and valued.

She is survived by her adoring husband of 64 years, Antonius H. Neggers, her children Lora Caldi (John), Tony Neggers (Marina), Lisa Signorelli, and Mark Neggers. Mary Ann is also survived by brother, Vito Sylvester and her grandchildren Mark Doherty, Janel Kohaut (William), Anthony Neggers, Shana Doherty, Briana Stednick, and Miguel Palacio, as well as three great-grandchildren Jacob Neggers, Adelaide Kohaut and Mark Doherty Jr. She is preceded in death by her sister Patricia Alston.

Mary Ann Neggers leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Margaret's Church, 6 Sussex Avenue, Morristown. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.
