Obituary of Irene Cecelia Stearn

Irene c. Stearn, 100, passed away on October 6, 2023. She was born in Jersey City and was a life-long resident of Whippany, NJ.

Irene was a member of the Hanover Seniors, the Hanover Township Bowling League, and Our Lady of Mercy Church, Whippany.

She is survived by her devoted children, Sheila Finlay and her husband, Kevin, Claudia Welsh and her husband, Stephen, and Laura Brego and her husband, John. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Kristen Klacik, Megan DeMartinis, Brittany Doorish, Erik Finlay, Courtney Welsh, Timothy Welsh, Kacie Schmidt, Kyle Brego, and Colin Brego; as well as her adored 11 great-grandchildren.

Irene was predeceased by her husband, Robert Stearn, in 1994.

Family and friends are welcome to gather for a Memorial Mass on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 1:30 pm at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, 100 Whippany Road, Whippany. Interment of ashes to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
