Obituary of Michael F. Caruso

Michael F. “Mike” Caruso, of Rockaway, passed away suddenly on February 27, 2023.

Born in Teaneck, Mike resided in Fair Lawn before moving to Rockaway 8 years ago.

Mike graduated from Fair Lawn High School in 1998. He then went on to earn his B.A. degree from New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2003, and his M.A. degree in Educational Leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2008.

Mike worked as a High School Math Teacher for Morristown High School for the past 11 years. While Mike loved teaching, he also had a passion for sports, especially football and baseball. He was a life-long Jets and Mets fan. In addition to sports, Mike was an avid collector of vinyl records. There was no band he enjoyed listening to more than Weezer.

Mike is survived by his loving wife, Jillian and his cherished daughter, Calleigh. He is also survived by his beloved parents, Michael and Brigida Caruso and his dear mother in law, Suzanne Lee. Mike will be greatly missed by his “brothers and sisters” Mark, Lauren, Phil, Matthew and Dina as well as his adored nieces, Gabriella and Maya. Mike was predeceased by his mother, Lorena and his father in law, Peter.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 4-8pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. (A continued flow throughout the Funeral Home will aid in keeping all of us healthy and safe, with everyone having an opportunity to pay their respects.) A Funeral Mass for Michael will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morris Township.
